I often visited Doug in his large Toronto studio at the back of his house. I would look through piles of paintings of all sizes, and admire not only his talent and technique but also the numerous subject matters that he would paint, from human figures and farm animals to rural landscapes including many from the Creemore area where he had a second home. His ability to capture and reflect light and create realistic clouds using an impressionistic technique adds to the success of his wonderful landscape paintings. Doug currently lives in Hamilton, Ontario.
